Cookie Policy

www.dieciocchi.com provides visitors to its website with the following information on cookies, their functions and how to disable them.

What are Cookies

Cookies are small text strings that the websites visited send to the user's navigation device (usually to the browser) where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same websites the next time the same user visits, thus enabling the website to recognise users and store certain information about them in order to allow or improve the service offered. Cookies are usually present in users' browsers in very high numbers and sometimes also with characteristics of wide temporal persistence.

What are Cookies for

Cookies are used for different purposes: carrying out computer authentications, monitoring sessions, storing information on specific configurations concerning users accessing the server, etc.
Cookies can be divided into two macro-categories: technical cookies and profiling cookies.

Technical Cookies
Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service" (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code). They are not used for further purposes and are normally installed directly by the website operator. They can be subdivided into navigation or session cookies that guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate oneself to access reserved areas); analytical cookies assimilated to technical cookies where they are used directly by the website manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself; Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user. A website could not be navigated without the use of technical cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the website to function.

Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are designed to create profiles on the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web. Profiling cookies are distinguished according to the different subject that installs them on the user's terminal: the manager of the site that the user is visiting (Publisher) or a different site (third party) that installs cookies through the former. Profiling cookies installed by third parties are defined as Third Party Cookies.

How to manage cookies

Most browsers allow the user to authorise, block or delete all or part of the installation of cookies through their preference settings. However, restricting the ability of websites to set technical cookies may affect the usability and prevent the proper functionality of a site, whereas profiling cookies are generally not essential for browsing.
For detailed information on the procedure required, you can consult the guide of the browser you are using.
You can also:
- activate the Do Not Track option present in most of the latest generation of browsers.
Websites designed to comply with this option should automatically stop collecting some of your browsing data when it is activated.
- activate Anonymous Browsing mode to surf without leaving any trace of your browsing data in the browser.
However, anonymous browsing does not guarantee anonymity on the Internet because accepting cookies and then automatically deleting them at the end of the browsing session only serves to keep the browsing data in the browser, whereas the browsing data will continue to be available to website operators and connectivity providers.

A useful tool for checking which cookies are installed on your computer (and blocking them by revoking consent) is available at www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices.

For all other information on the processing of personal data by www.dieciocchi.com we invite you to carefully read our Privacy Policy.
